Jr. Reign Shines at MLK Challenge with 3 Gold and 2 Silver Medals
The Jr. Reign delivered an outstanding performance at the MLK Challenge Tournament this weekend, bringing home an impressive three gold medals and two silver medals across multiple age divisions.
Leading the gold medal count was 10uB Flight 1, who captured the championship with a decisive 6–1 victory over the California Surf. The team’s strong two-way play and offensive pressure set the tone, with Logan Stafford earning MVP honors for his standout performance in the final. In addition, 10uB Flight 2 delivered one of the most thrilling games of the tournament, edging the Mavericks 7–6 in a shootout to secure gold. The hard-fought win was capped off by Carter Dmytriw, who was named MVP after a clutch performance in the championship game. Adding to the gold medal success, 14uA dominated their final, shutting out the California Heat 6–0. The team controlled the pace from start to finish, with Andrew Ito earning MVP honors for his exceptional play.
Jr. Reign also earned two silver medals after strong tournament runs. 8uB Flight 2 battled to the finals before falling 7–4 to the California Surf, while 12uAA finished runner-up after a competitive 5–2 loss to Goldrush in the championship game.
With the MLK Challenge now in the books, momentum continues to build for the Jr. Reign program. Early bird registration is now open for the Spring program, and also look forward to a sneak peek at the upcoming Presidents’ Day Tournament, where Jr. Reign teams will once again compete.
