Jr. Reign take home 7 banners and one silver medal over MLK Weekend!

The Jr. Reign are so proud of the performance of all our  teams over the MLK Challenge weekend! 8 teams played for a championship with 7 taking home the banner, one silver medal and 4 more teams being in championship contention until the final day!


With the new year already in full swing, what a  great way to kick off  2024 with plenty of hardware and team celebrations!


With one of  the largest 8u tournaments in the State, our MLK Challenge event proved to be a special experience for all  8u teams attending, 24 in total! 


The Jr. Reign 8uB Riverside team battled through the round robin to earn their trip to the championship game. Despite a valiant effort, the 8uB team finished with the silver medal, losing 9-6 in an exciting game  to Arizona Hockey Union in the finals. 


Jr. Reign 8uA Riverside team started slow in round robin play but ended up winning  a very tough division, Competing against Arizona Hockey Union in the finals, the 8uA Riverside Jr. Reign came out on top with a 4-3 victory.


Moving on to the 10u divisions, the Jr. Reign 10uA Carlsbad team won the gold medal after defeating the Empire Hockey Club 11-2 in the championship game! 


Next up; both of the Riverside based 12u teams won the gold medal. The 12uA club defeated the Jr. Ducks 7-1 in the finals; In addition, the 12uBB team won against the Mammoth Stars 10-2 in the championship game to capture the gold medal. Congratulations Jr. Reign 12u clubs!


Building off the other 12u teams over the weekend, the 12uAA team competed in the Great Park MLK Classic in Irvine. After an undefeated trek towards the finals beating teams such as the Sno-Kings Jr. Thunderbirds, the Jr. Sharks, the Jr. Condors and the Denver Jr. Pioneers; they eventually faced off with the Jr. Pioneers in a tough rematch. In a close tight battle for the gold medal, the Reign 12uAA team came out on top with a 3-2 over Denver. Congratulations to  12uAA Jr.  Reign!


The 14u division was a tough one for both of our Riverside and Carlsbad clubs, with the latter coming out on top. Facing off against the Empire hockey club, Carlsbad 14uA won 6-2 for the championship victory. Congratulations to the Carlsbad 14uA club!


Lastly, a massive congratulations to the 18uAA Jr. Reign club for defeating the Heritage Eagles 2-1 in the championship game. Every game for this club was tight, proving that they can hold a lead and close out tight games. Congratulations to the Jr. Reign 18uAA team!


Moving along, we are super excited for the rest of 2024. Next up, we look forward to bringing our competitive clubs back for the President’s Day Open!



Spring team registration is now open to Jr. Reign players and pre waitlist application is open to new players interested in the Jr. Reign.
